a) Qualified Lawyers

Professional and Academic Qualifications

  • LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) with a minimum grade of 2.1 (upper second) if from a British University or equivalent degree if obtained from Universities in other jurisdictions;
  • Post-graduate qualification; LL.M. (Master of Laws) and especially Legal Practice Course (LPC), Barrister-at Law or other professional qualifications will be considered as an advantage;
  • Fluent knowledge of Greek and English, both written and oral. Additional language will be considered an advantage;
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure, excellent analytical and problem solving skills, ability to take initiatives, work under minimum direction and take responsibility for own actions;
  • Dynamic with pleasant personality;
  • Self-motivated and able to cooperate efficiently with co-workers.

 b) Trainee Lawyers

We are seeking to recruit University graduates who have recently completed their Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree with a high grade and who wish to become members of the Cyprus Bar Association.

Trainee lawyers will be treated as qualified lawyers and so commercial mindset, common sense, and a willingness to accept responsibilities is essential for candidates.

 c) Litigation Lawyer (Head)

Α. Karitzis & Associates L.L.C, is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and driven litigation lawyer to assume the leadership of our Litigation Department at our Limassol office. Professional and Academic Qualifications

  • At least seven (7) years of post-qualification experience in contentious litigation cases and Court practice;
  • LLB (Bachelor of Laws) with a minimum grade of 2.1 (upper second) or equivalent;
  • LL.M.(Master of Laws) or Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) or Legal Practice Course (LPC) will be considered an advantage;
  • Cyprus Bar Association License;
  • ADR or other professional certificates or qualifications will be considered an advantage;
  • Fluent knowledge of Greek and English, both written and oral;
  • Excellent use of Microsoft Office Suite;

  • Necessary knowledge, experience, abilities and skills allowing to autonomously manage and execute cases and tasks that they will be required and expected to handle in the litigation field.
  • Self-confidence, readiness and assurance to undertake and successfully handle any litigation cases and matters, regardless of their complexity, financial scale or significance.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the Civil Procedure Rules;
  • Wide experience in diverse contentious cases and matters;
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure;
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills;
  • Strong ability to negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) outcomes
  • Take responsibility for own actions and initiatives;
  • Dynamic with pleasant personality;
  • Self-motivated and able to cooperate efficiently with co-workers;
  • Ability to lead, motivate and manage a team of lawyers and administrative staff;
  • Effective delegation and monitoring skills;

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills for clear and persuasive legal arguments;
  • Strong public speaking skills for presentations in court and during client meetings;
  • High standards of professional ethics and integrity in all dealings.

 

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage and supervise the Litigation Department of the Firm and its members;
  • Train, mentor and develop the members of the litigation team;
  • Allocate and oversee the distribution of litigation cases;
  • Handle, oversee and manage a portfolio of complex, high-value or significant litigation cases;
  • Represent clients in court hearings, trials and ADR procedures;
  • Prepare and review pleadings and other court documents prepared by the litigation team members to ensure quality and accuracy;
  • Prepare and review legal opinions;
  • Act as the focal point of contact, especially for key litigation clients;
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with clients;
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the Firm’s litigation department;
  • Represent the Firm at professional and promotional events, conferences and networking activities;
  • Contribute to the shaping, improvement and implementation of the Firm’s overall business plan and strategy, its policies and procedures;
  • Assist to the preparation, monitoring and implementation of the Department’s budgets, billing and profitability targets and of each of the Department’s team member;
  • Conduct periodic employee assessments and performance appraisals, job interviews and other necessary HR functions concerning the Litigation Department.
