A winter wonderland in a sunshine paradise
From around the middle of December until the end of March, the snow falls on the slopes of the Troodos mountains, transforming it into a picturesque winter wonderland, and a ski resort. The Troodos mountains are beautiful all year round, so we recommend a visit whatever time of year you’re here, but there’s something particularly magical about them in the winter months. Being a compact island, no matter where you’re staying, you’ll find the Troodos mountains perfectly accessible for a day trip from all the major resorts, or you can choose to stay in the nearby village of Platres to make the very most of the ski facilities.
Great skiing for all the family on four slopes
With four slopes to choose from, set on the slopes of the iconic Mount Olympus. Head to the top of the mountain and you’re 1953 meters above sea level. The Olympus ski resort is great for both beginners and experienced skiers. If you’ve never been skiing before, why not make 2021 the year you learn a new skill?

If you’re a fan of winter sports, then you certainly won’t be disappointed. Ski equipment can be bought or hired nearby so you don’t have to worry about bringing bulky ski gear on the plane. Even if you’re not keen on taking to the slopes yourself, a visit to the mountains is certainly well worth it. In the summer months it can be a cooling escape from the blazing midday heat, and in the winter it’s a magical trip that will have you feeling as if you’re walking through a fairy tale.
